Some days were pretty warm and others were a bit cold. I was surprised to wake up to snow one morning but fortunately it didn't last long and the roads were safe and dry within a day to two. We spent lots of time playing games, drawing pictures, and reading books. I got to take Ben to his piano lesson one day and the girls to their dance lesson. The day before I came home I went with Mike and the older kids to their local zoo. I was very impressed with the natural and beautiful surroundings it is in. In the summer when the leaves are out it must be spectacular. What a blessing that it's just a short drive from their home.
Benson ...BFFE!
Grace at her ballet class. When they gave them time for freestyle dance she would always slide around on the floor. Hey ...that's what free style is all about!
Sabrina is the 3rd one from the left and Grace is the second one from the right. They are all taking a little break and waiting for instructions from their teacher.
Here we are at the zoo checking out the monkey cage.
There was lots to read and see.

I have to say ...this tiger was a little on the thin side. He was looking kind of hungry too!
Before I knew it my week was over and it was time to head back. Sadly all good things must come to an end, but not for long. In about a month we get to go back for Harrison's blessing and Ben's baptism! I can't wait!!!At one of my gas stops on the way home I came across a restaurant/gas station and found this little guy waiting for me at the door. The only thing for sale was fried pies and gas! Go figure ...I passed on the fried pies but went inside to pay for the gas since that was the only option ...they hold your credit card while you pump the gas. Not sure I was ok with that. Anyway I had to walk past this rooster on my way in so of course I had to take his picture.
I had my fingers crossed that he wouldn't try to peck my eyes out when I went in for a close up!
Mission accomplished!
