Can you feel the love?

My niece Brandee at: http://www.philosophyphotos.com/ took Whitney and Cody's engagement photos and every single one was sooooo amazing! This is the one they chose for their wedding invitations. Good choice! I know I love it! Check out Whitney's facebook page to see more.

Where in the world will Stephen go?

We have been waiting with much anticipation to hear where Stephen will be called to serve on his two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and when he will be reporting to the MTC (Missionary Training Center). So without further ado...

We are so excited for him and know that he will be an amazing
missionary. God speed!

Memorial Day picnic

We had a wonderful time at our ward Memorial Day picnic. Of course it wouldn't be Memorial Day without the scouts presenting the colors.
The Pledge of allegiance
The national anthem sung by Jeremy Boaz. Oops! Looks like I didn't record the beginning of the song. Still pretty amazing anyway !
The missionaries didn't have to worry about going hungry!
Stephen took a 2 hour shift to help keep the fire going in the BBQ pit before the picnic. His weather report ...HOT and HUMID!!!
Bishop and Sister McPherson ...Looking good!
After preparing the meat the night before, Cade Stephens started smoking the meat at 4:00 am at our neighborhood park so every thing would be ready to eat by 6:00 pm. Now that's what I call going the extra mile in order to serve!!!
And here he is ...still hard at work!
Gary helping to serve the smoked brisket, sausage and chicken.
Yummmm ...was it good!

As you can see we had a great turn out for our Memorial Day picnic.
Besides the barbecued meat we had lots of other tasty side dishes. I brought one of our favorites. Gary's Moms potato salad.
Gary finally made his escape so he could grab a bite to eat.
Lori Stephens organized a short program to honor those who had served in the military or who have family members currently serving.
These are the flowers Gary and I received in honor of our son who is currently serving as a Sgt. in the army.
So here's to you Eric. We are proud of you. Thank you for your service to our country.
